Commemorates
Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, welcomed with palm branches and cries of Hosanna (Matt 21:1-11).
Practice
Palm branches are distributed, often shaped into crosses by the children. The General Funeral is served after the Liturgy, in anticipation of Christ's burial on Good Friday (no funerals will be served during Holy Week itself).
